Organisation
OASIS is a growing alliance of a diverse set of organisations led by a governing council.
Board
The strategic direction of the alliance, its day to day activities and plans are directed by the board. The current board (formed in 2024) was constituted by the founding member organisations of OASIS. The framework for the constitution or reconstitution of the council, such as an election process, is still underway.
Advisory Council
The advisory council, constituted by the board, is a group of individuals with expertise in FOSS, technology, and social innovation, who advise the council and the alliance members.
Membership
Any individual or organisation committed to FOSS and social innovation aligning with the principles and framework of OASIS can become a member of the alliance. For instance, technologists, technology and product vendors providing FOSS services aiming to operate and provide services in the social sector, philanthropic institutions aiming to build technology capacity in their beneficiary organisations etc.
Activities
Advocate FOSS technology adoption in the social sector via hands-on, evidence based showcasing of successful technology implementations.
Capacity and awareness building of FOSS technologies via workshops, training sessions, meetups, and technical demonstrations.
Develop and disseminate educational resources, playbooks and case studies.
Facilitate mentorship programs.
Work with tech organisations and vendors to build easily usable, low-maintenance FOSS technologies tailor made for solving recurring problems in social sector organisations.
Engage with broader FOSS, technology, and social innovation communities and showcase opportunities in the social sector.
